General Questions

TranslAItion is an AI-powered translation platform that uses advanced language models to provide high-quality translations between multiple languages. Our service specializes in preserving proper names and contextual meaning during the translation process.

TranslAItion offers several unique features:

  • Name Detection: We automatically identify proper names in your text and allow you to review and edit how they should be translated.
  • Context Preservation: Our system maintains context across large documents by processing text in related chunks.
  • Account Management: Save your translations for future reference and organize them in folders.
  • Share Translations: Make translations public to share with others or keep them private.

We currently support translation between over 100 languages, including but not limited to English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Arabic, and many more. Our system can automatically detect the source language if you're unsure what language your text is in.

Account & Credits

TranslAItion operates on a credit-based system:

  • Credits are used to pay for translations
  • The number of credits required depends on the length of your text (approximately 1 credit per 100 characters)
  • Credits are deducted when you start a translation
  • If a translation fails due to technical issues, credits are automatically refunded
  • Credits don't expire as long as your account remains active

To purchase credits:

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Click on "Purchase Credits" in the navigation menu or in your profile
  3. Select the credit package that meets your needs
  4. Complete the payment process using one of our secure payment methods
  5. Credits will be immediately added to your account after successful payment

Refunds for credit purchases are considered on a case-by-case basis. Generally, refunds may be provided if:

  • The purchase was made within the last 7 days
  • No credits from the purchase have been used
  • There was a technical error that resulted in duplicate charges

Using the Service

To translate text:

  1. Enter or paste your text in the source text area
  2. Select the source language (or use "Auto-detect")
  3. Choose the target language you want to translate to
  4. Click the "Translate" button
  5. If names are detected, you'll be prompted to review and edit them
  6. The translation will process and display in the target text area
  7. You can then save or copy your translation

Note: Once a translation starts, it will continue processing even if you refresh the page. When completed, it will be automatically saved to your recent translations.

Name detection is a feature that identifies proper names in your text, such as people, places, organizations, and titles. When you translate a text:

  1. Our system automatically identifies proper names in your source text
  2. You'll see a popup showing all detected names and their suggested translations
  3. You can review and edit these translations if needed
  4. After confirming, the system will ensure these names are consistently translated according to your preferences

This feature is particularly useful for texts containing character names, place names, or specialized terminology that should be translated in a specific way.

TranslAItion's system is designed to be resilient to page refreshes and interruptions:

  • Translation continues: Once you click "Translate" and the process begins, the translation will continue running on our servers even if you refresh or close the page.
  • Credits are safe: Credits are deducted only once at the beginning of the translation process. You won't be charged again if you refresh the page.
  • Automatic saving: When a translation completes, it will be automatically saved to your account, regardless of whether you're still on the page.
  • Find your translations: Completed translations can be found in your profile under "My Translations," even if you weren't present when they finished.

This ensures that long translations can complete safely even if you experience connectivity issues or need to close your browser.

After completing a translation:

  1. Click the "Save Translation" button
  2. Enter a title for your translation
  3. Choose a folder to organize it (optional)
  4. Select whether to make it public or private
  5. Click "Save"

Your translations are automatically saved when completed and can be accessed from your profile page. From there, you can:

  • View your saved translations
  • Organize them into folders
  • Edit their titles or privacy settings
  • Delete translations you no longer need

Technical Questions

There is no strict character limit for translations, but longer texts will:

  • Require more credits (approximately 1 credit per 100 characters)
  • Take longer to process (our system divides long texts into chunks)

For optimal performance, we recommend translating texts of up to 50,000 characters in a single request. Very large documents can be split into multiple translations.

We use advanced AI language models to provide high-quality translations, but like all machine translation systems, accuracy can vary depending on:

  • The language pair (some languages translate more accurately than others)
  • The complexity and subject matter of the text
  • The presence of idiomatic expressions or cultural references

Our name detection feature helps improve accuracy for proper nouns, and our chunk-based translation system maintains context for better coherence in longer texts.

For critical or professional translations, we recommend having a human translator review the output.

We take data privacy and security seriously:

  • Your translations are private by default and only visible to you
  • You can choose to make specific translations public
  • We do not use your translation content for training our models
  • We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data
  • Your account information is stored securely and your password is encrypted

Support & Troubleshooting

If a translation fails due to technical issues:

  • Our system will automatically attempt to retry up to 5 times
  • If all retries fail, you'll receive an error message explaining the issue
  • The credits used for the failed translation will be automatically refunded to your account
  • For partial failures (where some chunks translated successfully), you'll receive the successful portions and a proportional refund
